there is another way to fellowship with your loved ones after disagreeing with the wt besides getting reinstated.
all you have to do is fling yourself off a boat and start drowning, says watchtower:.
"suppose, then, a member of a christian congregation boating on a lake were to see another boat containing a disfellowshiped person capsize, throwing the disfellowshiped one into the water where he struggled to stay afloat.

"Suppose, then, a member of a Christian congregation boating on a lake were to see another boat containing a disfellowshiped person capsize, throwing the disfellowshiped one into the water where he struggled to stay afloat. Could the Christian ignore that one’s peril, row away and feel free from guilt before God—inasmuch as the one in danger of drowning was disfellowshiped, viewed as “a man of the nations”? Certainly not. That would be cruel and inhumane."

I had an aunt that had rheumatic fever as a child and only had an IQ the high 70's. But, absolutely no one was able to BS her on an emotional level. She had an uncanny ability to see through people's BS. Yea, she didn't get some jokes. But, she was the first one to tell me straight up that the problem with our family was that there wasn't much love in it. Funny how no one else figured that out. I come from a 3 & 4 gen JW family on both sides respectively.
Anyway, I truly enjoyed being around her. Sometimes she played dumb to get a reaction out of you. Other times she really didn't get something. But, you were never quite sure which was which; she always kept you guessing with that twinkle in her eye. That together with a sense of humor made her interesting and dear to me.
The rest of my JW family wrote her off as an idiot and couldn't wait to get her into a nursing home. When that day came, I wasn't notified. When I finally became aware of it I called her doctor and had quite a long conversation with him. He told me I was the first relative of hers that sounded normal. Of course, the rest of the family had "normal" IQ's I'm sure. But, multi-generational cult involvement takes its toll.
My JW relatives tried to force the nursing home not to let us see her because they were shunning us (we were attending a church by that time). Several JW's were running the place. I told them that I would have the police there with the news media if they tried ANY crap whatsoever. They backed down.
JW relatives rarely went to see her, most never did... did I mention that she spoke her mind? That characteristic doesn't fare well In OZ.
Anyway. My wife and kids and I would make the 450 mile round trip to see her regularly. One time we busted her out of the nursing home to go see grandpas grave and get some ice cream. They sent a nurse along with us to help with the wheel chair and in case of 'accidents' if you know what I mean.
We had a grand time, and laughed a lot. The wheel chair got away from me a bit on a hill at the cemetery. She was scared and loving it all at the same time. I miss her.
I dated a girl once that had so many gifts that it would take a whole paragraph to describe. I tested at an IQ of 125. But she told me that when she tested they refused to tell her the result because they didn't want it to go to her head. It was truly amazing the gifts that she had in math, art and music. I watched her solve a math problem once that took up a whole chalk board while holding a mentally disabled child on her hip that was periodically throwing up on her. She was just laughing it all off as she solved for X. It was surreal.
But, I was still infected with WT theology and I guess her high IQ prompted her to get out after a few months into the relationship. Or, maybe her mother had something to do with it.
Anyway, sorry for the rambling. What are your thoughts on the topic?
watchtower view on romans 6: 7 examined .
the watchtower teaches that the opportunity to be born again and enjoy complete justification with god ended in 1935, having been limited to only 144k since pentecost.
so, it is very surprising that the watchtower embraces the death that is described in romans chapter 6, since this is the very death that is required to be born again…… which is denied to watchtower members!
JW's will bet their entire life on a false understanding of Romans 6: 7. They take it out of context and imagine that when they die (literally) they get a clean slate.
The WT itself says differently in w85 12/1 p. 11 :
While still living in the flesh, these “righteous ones” undergo a symbolic death. The apostle Paul explains: ...Therefore we were buried with him through our baptism into his death, .. . . because we know that our old personality was impaled with him ...For he who has died has been acquitted from his sin.”—Romans 6:2-7.
The word "acquitted should read "freed" because dead bodies can't sin anymore. That is the thought here. But all the same, the WT admits this is not talking about a physical death.
So then, Why do JW's stubbornly hang on to a doctrine of self-atonement?
don't understand....but this crisis in ukraine seems to be getting out of control....i mean, everybody knows how to start a war..... by the way, as always, people at the borg are having a field day.....
Barry let Russia have Crimea in 2014 and Biden will let him have Ukraine in 2022.
The world needs something to talk about while the next pandemic gets underway.

I for one welcome our new WW3 overlords.
What do you mean by that Mr. Roboto?

Healing for Sickness of Mind
Many who are mentally and spiritually sick are not confined in mental institutions. Millions are held in restraint, however, in institutions of another kind, religious organizations.... By his prophet God expressed his disgust with such methods and those who practice them. He tells them their ceremonies are worthless, their prayers vain. (Is, 1:10) Those who would be well spiritually must “learn to do well.”
This Jehovah’s witnesses do and also delight to help others to do. During November Jehovah’s witnesses will continue to preach...from house to house... A curative, spiritually rich Bible-study aid book will be offered to all on a contribution of only 50c.
Be sure to share in the healing work.
w57 10/15 p. 640
So there you have it! Get out of your worthless religious organization and get into theirs and start selling "curative" Bible-study "aids".
Our ancestors fell for this snake oil?
genesis 6. .
5 the lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.
6 the lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled.
Animals are not made in the image of God. Originally man had the same moral character as God. Then, he took on another nature.
The wages of sin is death.
So, sacrificing innocent animals not only provided meals for those hungry, they also provided a substitute for the death required by law for sinning. It was a vicarious death of the sinner that was enacted.
Likewise, Jesus died a substitute death for all those that would believe that his sacrifice would be sufficient on their behalf to be grafted back into God's family and receive the original moral character of God .
anyone who has been of this forum in the past few days has seen doubting thomas (an active jw) refuse over and over to provide even one scripture that can show how a jw can get their sins forgiven while outside of the new covenant as described in mt.
26: 27-28. yet, he claims to believe in the blood covering of jesus while at the same time personally rejecting the new covenant "for forgiveness of sins".
his contradictory claims are common among jw's.
@ Rattigan,
Jehovah is our father because he was our creater
Nope. WT has never back tracked on the fact that Jehovah is not the father of R & F witnesses. God does not recognize the devil as his son, though he created him. Christians are born sons of Adam.... like everyone else but are grafted into the family of God by adoption. R & F witnesses are not adopted but are still trying to get into the family another way.
Yes, Jws are declared righteous from faith and when their sins are removed.
Only, their sins are not removed because they publicly reject the New Covenant "for the forgiveness of sins as described in Mr. 26: 27-27
And, Yes, Jesus is the mediator for the anointed only because only they need a mediator.
Wrong, All are sinners. All will be judged after they die (Hebrews 9:27). All need a Mediator.
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; - 1 Tim. 2: 5
